I'll save you the trouble, as my memory is quite clear on the matter. The thread that spawned the confusion and Gaile's actual words.

That leaves us with one, as of yet, unidentified new pet. It will probably be on Luxon side in a similar manner to the Black Moa of the Kurzicks.

Thing is, I doubt they'd show us the super cool secret ultimate pet on the preview weekend. The rare one must be harder to get than can be done by PuG's on a single weekend. I'm still banking on there being a much more rare one to be found.

My R/Me will stick with her faithful Strider; she's had the pet since pre-sear when they were both lvl 3, no way I'm swapping. However I intend to have a Rit/R in Factions, and she will have the Black Moa (got it in the FPE), pretty much to 'match' my R/Me... hehe.

Why would anyone want a white tiger? We all know that they are genetically blind. Thats the sad thing with tigers, the albino white is blind/has extremly poor vision. Just telling you all...
As for my mesmer? I will be getting a blue crab to match my armour, I will also be training sideways walking, this way we will be the Dynamic Crabo! My ranger will get... something less Stalking. Maybe a crane.

Fox's aren't Asian enough.
Panda I could understand, but I dont see how it'd be Kuzrick enough really.
Still, it'd be nice just to switch into a ?/Ranger on all my characters and get them a pet to go with their primary.

do 9999 ignore target defense and magical defense. At least its not Square Enix who created GW.
All my player have, at least, 1 animal (Just for fun)
Elder Wolf for my Ice Witch, Stalker for my Ranger, Lynx for Necro (Change for Moa soon or Black Moa), Lynx for Mesmer (Change for Crane).

Not neccessarily blind but definitely the vast majority of them are deformed. ;_; The poor inbred things. The problem all comes from inbreeding, since natural white tigers are so extremely rare and the vast, vast majority of white tigers today come from the same extremely tiny gene pool. The one I saw when I was lucky enough to visit a rescue center for big cats had a malformed jaw. You can see a picture of her here.
As to annoying misconceptions floating around, white tigers are NOT albino! Nor are Siberian tigers white tigers! White tigers are usually Bengal tigers, and sometimes Siberian tigers or a cross of the two. There is no special sub-species of tiger that is white, it's just a recessive gene. ...hence why they've been inbred into such a horrific state.

Pets
So if we're thinking asian-influenced pets....
Why not a Komodo Dragon? Or some other kind of huge reptile similar to a dune lizard? maybe a mini dragonish creature isnt such a bad thought.
Although if they get pandas im so getting one...

You're not thinking of the kirin are you? ... 'cause that seems to fit your description, and was intitially rumored to be a pet, but most certainly is not one.
